Announcing our brand new 2 Part Crash Course in Photography!

Each part is made up of 5 weeks or units and are designed to work together to give the perfect combination of theory and practical experience required to produce stunning photographs. And with just 4 people MAX per course, you'll have plenty of personal attention from our tutor to get the most out of the session.

Commit to only 5 weeks at a time - Part 2 does not have to be taken immediately after Part 1 as there are several dates in the year for you to pick from if you cannot commit to the full 10 weeks at once. 

When are they held? - Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Part 1 (5 x 2 hour lessons) - Focusing on the theory (as this is so important in the initial stages) with plenty of practical sessions to better engrain what you have learned.

Part 2 (5 x 2 hour lessons) - Focusing on accompanied practical sessions (which are most important once you have covered the bulk of the theory, with a wee bit of accompanying theory.

Both parts can be booked independently and in conjunction with the One Day Workshops.

This photography course has the advantage of learning in small groups at low cost, with maximum flexibility. A clear & focused approach starts with the basics and gets you to a good level of proficiency in 10 weeks. Everyone will be encouraged to enter photos taken during the course into our yearly student exhibition at Rhubarb & Custard Photo Gallery, giving you an inspiring objective, and something solid to work towards.

Your Tutors, Halid K Izzet & Neil Onslow


Halid K Izzet 

Halid is our resident photographer. Having traveled and photographed over 30 different countries, Halid aspires to capture a fresh and inspiring view of the world and its people. From the amazing deserts of Utah, USA, including the infamous yet very rare photos of the petrified sand-dunes of Coyote Buttes, to the Mediterranean paradise of his birth-place of North Cyprus, his intense sensitivity to angles, colours, expressions, contrasts and textures result in an outstanding portfolio of images and emotions.


Neil Onslow

Neil has a Masters Degree in Photography with Distinction and also holds the Fellowship of the British Institute of Professional Photography. Neil has been a commercial photographer and photographic educator for over 35 years and has recently left the University of West London where he was a Senior Lecturer/Course Leader and academic manager for 23 years.
As well as his commercial photographic pursuits Neil is very interested in visually exploring the relationship between photography and identity. Neil’s most recent exhibition, a group show entitled ‘Alice’ at the PM Gallery in Ealing, West London, explored individual notions of perception and specifically for his work one’s relationship to our mirror image.
