Andrea Hall

Andrea Hall is a US citizen, raised and still living on the edge of Windsor Great Park in Virginia Water. Erstwhile, in addition to a career in PR, she was also a commissioned artist in both the US and UK, and has gained degrees in Arts and Business. Her interest in photography started to evolve only 3 years ago when she discovered how much ‘quicker’ it was to use a camera than a brush. So with the help of a genuine love of animals, trees and flowers plus and a ‘good eye’, soon gained a strong reputation locally for nature and wildlife photography. Her subject matter at that point was mainly The Great Park, and Virginia Water Lake in particular.

Then suddenly, whilst out walking around the lake with her camera as she always had on a sunny day in July of 2006, she became the last victim of Stephen Tyler, ‘The Hammer Man’ who attacked her brutally from behind a mask. Although badly injured, she managed to get away, and because of her unusual presence of mind and immediate actions, this long sought-after serial attacker is now serving an indefinite sentence in prison.

Understandably, after this experience Andrea put her camera down whilst she recovered her focus in all ways, plus the courage to return to what she loves. Happily, this year she has picked her camera back up and is better than ever.
