Mike Pascoe

Mike Pascoe is a self taught photographer and specialises in photographing birds on the River Thames.
His main focus is on the mute swan which although our largest bird and easily accessible, is not without its problems in getting good shots. With such a large expanse of white, exposure and light angle is everything, to lift the detail and avoid blown highlights.
Territorial protection is a major component in the life of mute swans, and a lot of Mikes work is focused on this aspect of their lives, when their power and aggressiveness come to the fore. Fighting can look fierce, but rarely results in serious injury, the pride of the vanquished usually being the worst casualty.
This year has been Mikes first at exploiting his work commercially and has now started successfully selling into the home decor market.
