Peter Hogan

Peter specializes in black and white photography; the absence of colour gives greater emphasis to the shapes and forms within the picture, increases the mood and emotional connection with the viewer.
Increasingly, his work tends towards more minimalist pictures that portray calmness and serenity where more complex pictures are often unable to do so.
All Peter’s work is hand-printed by him and is either silver-gelatin or platinum/palladium. Peter believes strongly that the richness and depth of a traditionally printed photograph far outweighs the ‘instantness’ of digital inkjets.
Peter has exhibited and is published widely as well as being a constant demand as a lecturer. In conjunction with Les McLean, he also offers courses/workshops (including digital photography) in Scotland.
Peter manufactures a range of traditional darkroom chemicals, to his own formulae, which are in demand by traditional photographers all over the world.
